Living Nativity Scene

In 2002, a group of friends who all came from the small town of Annone Veneto near Venice decided to create a living Nativity scene. Every year, the wheels of a huge organizational process start spinning and put into place more than 200 characters in scenes that recreate the atmospheres of Roman times. The grounds of the new San Vitale church are transformed into the Bethlehem of the Holy Family and visitors can see a variety of old trades, different types of scenery and of course the Nativity scene itself. The Living Nativity Scene is open both in the daytime and in the evening. As they follow the long trail inside the church grounds, they will be enthralled and astonished by the attention to detail and the atmosphere.

PROGRAMME:

Guided tour of the Concordia Museum and old town centre in Portogruaro, followed by lunch in a traditional restaurant. Transfer and tour of the Living Nativity Scene, which is a unique, spellbinding sight at dusk.
