World Music Day was launched in Paris in 1985, which was the European Year of Music. The aim was to promote musical culture throughout the continent. In recent years, it has been added to the list of annual events in Portogruaro and met with growing approval from both critics and the public. On 21 June every year, the town celebrates music in all of its countless forms by providing a stage for local professional and – even more significantly – amateur groups. For a whole day, the streets and squares in Portogruaro town centre are filled with bands and hundreds of spectators, not to mention unique sounds and musical experiences.

PROGRAMME:

Guided tour of Concordia Sagittaria and the Town Museum. Lunch in a traditional restaurant by the river. Boat transfer to Portogruaro, where we will listen to performances in the most evocative parts of the city as it gets dark.
