Founded in 1983, the Portogruaro International Music Festival is the town’s crowning glory. Over the years, it has built up a prestigious reputation and established itself as one of the top music festivals in Italy. It combines concerts with an educational side, in the form of master classes for music students from all over the world. Every year there is an outstanding selection of high-quality entertainment and musicians on the bill. The range of concerts is the festival’s main attraction. In recent years, it has expanded outside the town walls and organized concerts and events in the most picturesque parts of the surrounding area.

Over the decades, Portogruaro’s festival has developed a reputation for excellence thanks to the contributions of numerous internationally renowned musicians, including Pavel Vernikov, the Tchaikovsky Trio, Bruno Canino, Uto Ughi, Aldo Ciccolini, Mario Brunello, Grigory Sokolov, Moni Ovadia, the Camerata Salzburg, and the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto.

PROGRAMME:

Meet the guide in Portogruaro at 5.00 pm and start the tour of the town’s main architectural and historical sights, including a visit to the Concordia National Archaeology Museum in Portogruaro (the ticket for which is also valid for entrance to the Concordia Sagittaria archaeological excavations in the following days). The tour will conclude with dinner in a traditional establishment by the Lemene River, with a selection of local products. Participants will then be free to enjoy the concert being held as part of the 35^th International Music Festival. Alternatively, they can visit the town centre and the shops, which will be open.
