Every year, the vibrant village of Summaga (near Portogruaro) organizes an Autumn Festival to celebrate the season, with local specialities, food and wine stands and a traditional selection of roast chestnuts and other chestnut products. For some years now, international food and wine has been showcased during the first weekend of the Autumn Festival. The cuisines of various countries worldwide are featured and visitors have the opportunity to savour foreign delicacies prepared using the finest local cooking methods. On the second weekend, the central streets in the town and the stunning square in front of the magnificent Abbey are filled with stalls and displays of local craftsmanship, while live music and DJ sets keep young people entertained. As well as roast chestnuts, visitors can enjoy a number of other chestnut-based foods such as chestnut-roast pork.
