The Venetian lagoon witnessed the American author and Nobel Prize winner Ernest Hemingway write some of his most intense and significant pages of the 1950s with his “Hermes Baby” typewriter. The lagoon is silence, the lagoon is a deep breath, the lagoon is solitude and echoing ancient emotions; the lagoon is everything and nothing. With its reed thickets, countless birds and scattered old fishermen’s homes known as “casoni”, the lagoon is a unique, timeless non-place that is a source of inspiration and great sensorial attraction. We will cruise through its waters and enter the mouth of the Lemene River, then travel through the enchanting inland Venetian landscape. There will be time to stop off and enjoy a nice glass of Lison-Pramaggiore DOC wine, sipping slowly and pleasantly reminiscing among the historical marvels of Concordia Sagittaria.

PROGRAMME:

Cruise up the Lemene River – with lunch on board the boat – before stopping in Concordia Sagittaria to visit the Museum, the Basilica and the Baptistery.
