You will discover the charming Roman colony of Iulia Concordia, about 20 km from the well-known sea resort of Caorle, on the North-Adriatic Coast.

Iulia Concordia was founded in 42 B.C.and was crossing-point of two important Roman roads: the “Via Annia” and the “Via Postumia”. This charming town, now called Concordia Sagittaria, is amazingly rich in well-preserved Roman ruins and recent archaeological excavation uncovered further precious remains of warehouses, domus, thermal baths (located along the ancient Via Claudia), wells and stretches of Decumanus Maximus, the main avenue, on which overlooked all most important commercial, institutional and religious activities.

You will plunge into the fascinating Roman era accompanied by a local expert guide, who will tell you the ancient secrets of Concordia while having a relaxing walking tour. 

You will visit the Cathedral of Santo Stefano Protomartyr and its Baptistery, archaeological excavations which brought to light important Roman commercial routes, the Loggia Comunale with its funerary monuments and other relevant pieces of this invaluable inheritage. 

While plunging into the ancient history, you will have at the same time the chance of enjoying the typical flair of the local modern but very traditional market,  and, why not, doing some shopping as well: you can find typical handicraft and gastronomic products!

A worthy conclusion of this amazing tour is a delicious typical Venetian aperitif!
